The holiday house at the Mecklenburg Lake District Area, near Berlin, is a 2-storey maisonette which redefines the regional boathouse and barn typology. The slightly asymmetrical, rhombic-shaped building is a sustainable prefabricated timber construction. The floor levels are accessible and connected via ramps and stairs. When walking around, the building generates changing impressions while the windows capture different views of the landscape and the near by lake. They create a multiplicity of lighting moods, which also change depending on the time of day and the season.
